Chandigarh to Jammu

Jammu, nestled atop a hillock along the tranquil Tawi River, is encircled by the Udhampur district to the north and northeast, the Kathua district to the east and southeast, Pakistan’s Sialkot to the west, and Rajauri district and POK’s Bhimber to the northwest. In bygone days, its skyline was adorned with glistening temple spires, although many of these now stand concealed behind towering multi-story edifices. This city boasts a multitude of sacred sites cherished by Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians alike. Notably, Jammu serves as the pivotal launch point for the sacred Vaishno Devi shrine. Additionally, it stands as a vital railhead, facilitating the state’s transportation network.
